bucket list
Bucket List (noun): A list of things to accomplish before one’s death
My bucket list will be broken up into 5 categories; personal, business, philanthropic, entertainment and possessions. I will try and explain each of these as they arise and how I plan on reaching them. I truly believe that all these goals are obtainable in my lifetime and some of them are short term (business goals) and others are long term (philanthropy). Personal growth and dedication on my part must occur to reach most if not all of the items listed. If I determine that an goal is no longer desired I will strike it out rather than erase it.
Personal:
- Work out daily – This should be a no brainer. I make time to eat, shower, brush my teeth and drive to work. I need to make an effort DAILY to get my blood moving. Heck, I would venture to guess that it is better than vitamins.
- Do a triathlon (sprint to start off) – I did the decathlon thing, now I want to see if I get the tri-bug. Being as competitive as I am, I have struggled to make the time I felt was necessary to put up a good triathlon time / performance. F-that, I don’t need special equipment, super swimming skills (just down drown) I just need to prepare enough to get my ass kicked.
Business:
- $2000/month profit from Repurposed Goods – By expanding the Repurposed Goods’ market to external designers and as niche location to sell their upcycled / repurposed goods, I want to drive the consumer market of repurposed product design and production.
- Produce my first tablet magazine for a client- As a side venture I want to create a digital magazine for the iPad and other touchscreen based tablets for a client. (Deadline = ??/??/??)
Philanthropic:
- Give 10% of my annual income to selected organizations – still figuring out those but I currently give to WABE & NPR
- Financially support an Olympic track and field athlete – I want to support a passion that I can understand
Entertainment:
- Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with Laura – We have been talking about this venture for years now. The desire is there, the money and time is not. Back in college Laura and I would stare at this big map on her apartment wall and talk about the places we wanted to travel to. This is one of many that we must do.
- Attend the London & Rio Olympic Games – My grandfather took me to see the running of the torch through Orange, California for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. From that moment on I have always wanted to compete OR attend the Olympic games. As a decathlete, I didn’t quite make the mark so my next best choice is cheering for the US!
Possessions:
- Purchase Lotus Exige – There is meaning behind this vehicle for me and how it is obtained that makes this a bucket list item. I must purchase this car used and with the money from one month’s residual income.
